It involves non-intrusive inspection and sampling of accessible areas, such as walls, ceilings, floors, and services. The survey focuses on identifying the presence and condition of ACMs, their accessibility, and the risk of fibre release.

• Refurbishment/Demolition surveys A refurbishment/demolition survey is more intrusive and aims to identify all ACMs present in the building or structure, including in inaccessible areas, that might be disturbed or damaged during major refurbishment or demolition works. The survey involves destructive inspection and sampling of all areas and materials that may be affected by the works. The survey report includes detailed information on the location, quantity, type, and condition of ACMs, as well as recommendations for their safe removal and disposal.
