An Asbestos Survey is the first step in managing asbestos in any property. It is a legal requirement under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 for all non-domestic properties to have a valid Asbestos Survey to identify, locate, and monitor any asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) in the premises.

At Affordable Asbestos Removal Sussex, we offer two types of Asbestos Surveys: Management and Refurbishment/Demolition.

• Management Survey: The purpose of this type of survey is to locate and assess the presence and condition of any ACMs in the building that could be damaged or disturbed during normal occupancy, maintenance, or minor repair works. The survey will include a risk assessment and a management plan to manage the asbestos-containing materials safely.

• Refurbishment/Demolition Survey: This type of survey is more intrusive and involves taking samples of suspected ACMs to determine their type and quantity. It is required when the property undergoes major refurbishment or demolition works. The survey will include a detailed report on the location, condition, and extent of the ACMs, as well as a removal plan and a risk assessment.
